Happy Birthday to ZACK. We can't believe that he is TWO already! This year we had a joint birthday party with Zack's friend Reef (who was born the same day - and also turned 2). The party was at an indoor playground, which ended up being the PERFECT place for a bunch of 2 year olds (give or take) to play. After an hour of playing with the toys, we went downstairs to another room to eat a snack and have cupcakes. The kids were very well behaved. From the parents point of view - we felt like the party really turned out well, and that everyone had great time. On his actual birthday we went to Chucky Cheese (again with Reef and his family). Mom at first wasn't all that excited about Chucky Cheese, but it actually was great. Zack enjoyed playing with all of the toys/games. It only takes 1 token to play a game or ride on various trucks/trains/etc. What a deal.
The day after his birthday, we took him in for his "2 year" checkup. The Dr. says Zack is growing just as he should be, which is always nice to hear. After the appt. Zack and I went to the book store. Oh boy - ZACK DISPLAYED THE TRUE MEANING OF TERRIBLE TWOS! Is it really possible to hit that fast? After I asked him to put away the car books that he was playing with, and that we were not going to be buying all ten of them, he showed some true signs of displeasure. He cried, and cried and cried as we walked through the store and up to the cash register. I almost didn't know what to do - and really wanted to laugh. I told the cashier, excuse us - Zack turned TWO yesterday. She nodded as if she truly understood.
